The Suunto D-Series, Zoop Novo & Vyoer Novo Dive Manager and PC & Mac interface (USB version) is Suunto's branded cable to connect to all the D-series dive computers including the D4, D4i, D6, D6i, D9 and D9tx, this is their new cable and is fully backwards compatible. It is also compatible with the new Suunto Dive Manager software - DM4 with Movescount.
BE AWARE: You will find older dive managers and non Suunto copy cables that will not work with the new D-series computers the D4i, D6i and D9tx, nor the latest Suunto software. This dive manager is fully compatible with all D series computers new and old and the Zoop Vyper Novo models.
The latest version, instructions for installation and use of the movescount software can be downloaded from www.movescount.com/dm4 This software includes the Suunto Dive Planner, an excellent tool which allows you to plan dive profiles, gases and back up plans. Once complete you can then export your plan to the dive computer via the USB PC cable.
The USB Interface is very easy to use. Simply ensure that the contacts on your computer are dry, and then connect to your Suunto computer and your PC or Mac. Start your software and then you can interrogate the computer, download dives and begin to fill in your dive log. It's fun to do and the graphical representation of your dive, with stored information, is extremely helpful when trying to remember portions of a dive or when telling friends and non divers all about your underwater activities.
We've used a few of the dive planners out there and the suunto software is definitely our favourite.
